Senioritis: Hey Michelle, thanks for sitting down with senioritis!

Senioritis: Can you tell us a little about yourself Michelle?
Silvine Photography: I'm a travel and language junkie who wanted to share different cultures with people back home in the States. I found the easiest way to do so was to take candid shots in places that I traveled to that really captured aspects of the culture. I try to feed my travel habit by selling the photographs I take.
Senioritis: Very cool Michelle. Out of all the places you have visited if you could only go back to one of them which would it be?

Senioritis: Marlon Brando: Streetcar Named Desire or the Godfather?
Silvine Photography: The Godfather



Senioritis: How would you describe your style Michelle?
Silvine Photography: Vivid, Edgy, Exotic, Surprising.

Senioritis: What would you say is the best business tip you have ever received and who gave it to you?
Silvine Photography: My boyfriend told me that you can't be shy in business. You have to work hard to promote yourself and your work.
Senioritis: Very true, we've yet to have someone knock on our door to ask us about our work ;)



Senioritis: What would you say is your favorite sport to either watch or play Michelle?
Silvine Photography: Fencing. I'm an epeeist.
Senioritis: Wow, how did you get involved with fencing? Have you had a chance to visit any cool fencing clubs in other countries?

Senioritis: Michelle, do you have a favorite quote?
Silvine Photography: Can I have two?
Senioritis: Ok ;)
Silvine Photography: "Moderation in all things, including moderation." An old Chinese proverb. Secondly, "There is a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line" by Oscar Levant.
Senioritis: I like both of those, great quotes!



Senioritis: If you could jump in the DeLorean and go back in time; what’s one thing you would do differently in your business?
Silvine Photography: Definitely market research. I just jumped in and did what made me happy without really considering where or how I was going to get customers.
Senioritis: Good tip Michelle. I think sometimes we get so caught up in creating that we forget to think about where our customers will come from and how we can reach them.

Senioritis: If the $100 bill needed a redesign, who would you put on it?
Silvine Photography: Maybe Stephen Colbert? I love his show and he's the only person I know who can motivate the younger generation to do anything.
Senioritis: Interesting choice Michelle, maybe we can put Mr. Stewart on the bill's reverse ;) I think his motivational powers are rooted in the silent T.

Senioritis: Where can we find you on the web Michelle?
Silvine Photography: My travel blog and my Etsy store, so I can afford to travel.



Senioritis: James Bond: Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, or Daniel Craig?

Senioritis Goes International

Newsflash: As of this weekend senioritis will now be shipping worldwide ;)

We are very pleased to anounce that as of May 1 our Famous Seniors line will be available the world over. As many of you are already aware, we are big time car fans. This morning we had some lovely weather here in NY and had a great opportunity to check out some sweet rides; so we figured what better way to go over some of the new places we'll now be shipping to than with a few quick photos.

Domestic

Our domestic shipping policies will not change; all prints shipped within the USA will be shipped via USPS First Class Mail in a poly bag with a stiff backing board inside of a stay flat mailer. All domestic orders will include tracking as well ;)

International

International orders will be shipped via USPS First Class Mail in a poly bag with two stiff backing boards inside of a stay flat mailer. International postage will be a flat rate based on location. Our rates are based on postage to Canada, Mexico, and the rest of the world.

We will be shipping to exciting new places like:

Japan

Himawari Designs: Jeska (Himawari), southern California.
Senioritis: Ahhh, SoCal, excellent! I envy the fact that you don't have to use a snow shovel very often ;)

Senioritis: Can you tell us a little about yourself Himawari?
Himawari Designs: I'm a 16 year old artist trying to become well known before I get too old! I really want people to see the world as I do and maybe give them some inspiration.
Senioritis: Wow, can't believe you're only 16, I'm not sure I want to hear what your idea of too old is =) The fact that you are 16 and have a shop full of you own work up and running is awesome, great job!

Senioritis: Himawari, how would you describe your style?
Himawari Designs: cute, sexy, elegant, and passionate

Senioritis: Do you have a favorite color?
Himawari Designs: I have three! Pink, blue, and purple!~



Senioritis: Himawari, are you a righty or a lefty?
Himawari Designs: Righty
Senioritis: It continues to surprise me how many artists are rightys. For some reason I thought leftys were supposed to be more creative; guess that's just a myth.

Senioritis: Do you have a favorite quote Himawari?
Himawari Designs: "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde
Senioritis: Ain't that the truth, great words to keep in mind. I think sometimes we all get a little caught up worrying about what others might think of us when we should just be ourselves and let people see us as we are.

Senioritis: Himawari, if you could have lunch with someone famous, past or present, who would it be?
Himawari Designs: Damon Albarn! His music has inspired me so much throughout the years. I would not be the same person if his music hadn't touched me the way it did. Even though we are artists in different fields he's still me idol.
Senioritis: I'm not too familiar with Damon Albarn's work but I'm excited to give it a listen.



Senioritis: What's your favorite cartoon, from now or when you were a kid?
Himawari Designs: I really love Flapjack and Chowder! I also adore Speed Racer :)
Senioritis: Go Go Speed Racer! I love Speed Racer, Chim-chim is the best ;) On a more melancholy note I'm a pretty big Cartoon Network fan and am somewhat saddened to say that I have not seen Flapjack or Chowder. I will check them out on Cartoon Network's site though.



Senioritis: Himawari, where do you see yourself and your business in 10 years?
Himawari Designs: I hope to have a little loft in LA and take some collage classes.
Senioritis: Sounds like a good plan to us. Based on your current work and your desire to keep learning we think the future for your artwork is very bright! (anyone else hear The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades playing?)
